I was a kid. Five or six, maybe. I heard the Grand Ole Opry come through a Philco radio that sat atop my father’s beer refrigerator. Keith Bilbrey was the broadcast voice, the music was perfect. I pointed to the refrigerator and told my father I wanted to do “that” one day. My father thought about this. He smiled, patted my shoulder, and in a precious moment that can only be called divine, he said, “Son, get me another beer.”
The point is, dreams do come true. Because today, after all these years, I finally have my own beer refrigerator.
